Sr. Assistant Manager Tax

Position Purpose
This position is responsible for federal and provincial sales tax compliance and reporting requirements to management on weekly/monthly basis.
Job Description
- Prepare, finalize and e-filing of monthly provincial sales tax on services returns of group companies.
- Prepare, finalize and e-filing of monthly provincial sales tax withholding statements of group companies.
- Monthly and annual reconciliation of sales tax input claimed in sales tax return with ledger and identifying and resolving issues.
- Review of monthly federal sales tax and federal excise duty returns.
- Indirect tax compliance, reporting and representation before the tax authorities including assistance in tax audits by the tax authorities.
- Respond to notices received from tax authorities in respect of federal and provincial sales tax.
- Advice on valuation, applicability of taxes on transactions and admissibility to tax benefits/exemptions.
- Coordinate with vendors/ suppliers of the Company in resolving routine sales tax issues.
- Assistance in developing and implementing strategic tax planning for indirect taxes to minimize tax expenses and exposures.
- Liaison and assistance to tax advisors and supporting them in providing all-the needed documents/information with respect to notices/orders/appeals and tax litigations.
- Prepare current and deferred income tax working every quarter for the Financial Statements as per applicable local laws and International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Prepare and communicate tax status report for management review & information.
- Ensure coordination with internal and external audit teams in respect of above matters.
- Any other task as assigned by the management from time to time.
Experience and Qualification
- CA Finalist with Articles / ACCA / MBA Finance
- 3 / 4 / 7 years of relevant experience of Tax Compliance, preferably in Cement industry.
Specific Requirements
- Knowledge of preparing and filing of sales tax return (FBR-PRA-KPRA, SRB, BRA).
- Proficient in drafting legal replies and other legal documents.
