Unit Head Islamic Banking Credit role?
The Unit Head Islamic Banking Credit role is responsible for the overall management and performance of the credit portfolio of HabibMetro Bank. The successful candidate will be a key member of the bank's top management team and will report directly to the CEO.
The primary objectives of the Unit Head Islamic Banking Credit role are to:
– Ensure that the credit portfolio performs in line with the bank's risk appetite and profitability targets
– Develop and implement strategies to grow the credit portfolio in a sustainable manner
– Enhance the quality of the credit portfolio by implementing best practices in risk management
– Engage with key stakeholders (e.g. regulators, rating agencies, etc.) to ensure that HabibMetro Bank's credit risk management practices are aligned with industry standards
The successful candidate must have a strong track record in managing a large and complex credit portfolio, as well as extensive experience in developing and implementing credit risk management strategies. He/she must also possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Requirements:
- Education: BBA/MBA/M.COM
- Experience : 10 yrs of experience, including 4 yrs in similar role
Technical Skillset : · Excellent analytical skills, Knowledge of credit products, preferably Islamic, Understanding of economic scenarios, industry and regulatory environment, Proficiency in MS Office.
Responsibilities :
1. Assess/Approve/Recommend credit requests.
2. Assess the borrowers’ character, management, track record, industry fundamentals, and undertake forward looking financial analysis and repayment capacity.
3. Ensure that credit facilities have been properly structured and there is no violation of internal policies and regulatory requirements.
4. Review loan and security documentations. To monitor security coverage, financial covenants and other approvals conditions.
5. Coordinate with Business Teams for structuring of the credit limits in line with the client’s financial needs while ensuring compliance to the Bank's risk standards.
6. Ensure a proactive early problem recognition approach.
7. Liaise with Internal / External / Regulatory Auditors as regard.
