Job Description:
Qualifications and Competencies:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Metallurgy Engineering from a HEC recognized university with Respective NACE & API Certifications.
• Through knowledge of material science, metrology, engineering aspect of welding / NDT techniques.
• Thorough knowledge on engineering aspect of welding & NDT techniques, in-service application of NDT, pressure vessels & pipework design & inspection codes of practices.
• Knowledge of the international standards and codes NACE, ASME, API and ASTM especially inspection and corrosion standards such as API-571, API-580, API-570, API-510, API-653, API-573, API-970 & API-579.
• Should be a team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience:
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in Asset Integrity Management, Corrosion Management and Risk Based Assessment in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industry as lead corrosion engineer. Experience of renowned integrity management software systems, Refinery process damage mechanisms & assessment techniques in accordance with relevant codes & standards.
Responsibilities:
• Design, manage, implement corrosion control strategies covering corrosion management & control and inspection activities, including preparation and delivery of annual and periodic reports showing integrity assessments, corrosion status of systems, identification and assessment of significant trends from surveys.
• Provide authoritative technical assessment and interpretation of corrosion/out of service inspection/in-service inspection monitoring data and recommend changes in corrosion criticality analyses and monitoring/ inspection programs where appropriate.
• Provide corrosion expertise and effectively interact with multi-disciplinary AI&I or other process groups.
• Undertake failure investigations into material and corrosion issues in accordance with prescribed or approved failure investigation procedures.
• Participate and provide input to the regular review of corrosion management information such as Corrosion Control Matrices and Key Performance Indicators. Set up corrosion and integrity management review meetings and coordinate actions arising.
• Provide technical leadership in designated corrosion engineering disciplines.
• Review and implement recommended solutions for coating failures, Cathodic Protection.
• Experience in chemical inhibitors treatment and Participate in HAZOP review sessions and ensure that all issues are addressed.
• Review design packages and validate materials selection based on current code and standards.
• Validate corrosion controls, corrosion loops and corrosion damage mechanisms frequently.
• Conduct risk-based inspection based on API-580 methodology.
• Assess feed composition changes in order to assure assets mechanical integrity.
• Develop scope and description of technology items, and lead field implementation.
• Work in accordance with the company Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Systems/ Procedures.
